Northern Ireland international defender Conor McLaughlin believes that he can use the Euros to promote his career.
He said that many recruiters will be in France during the tournament, and this will be a great opportunity for him to get a move to a bigger club.
He stated that there are many other members of the team that believe the same and that they will do everything they can in order to catch the eye of a recruiter. He said that playing in an international tournament like this can be a massive opportunity to get a career boost and that he is definitely treating the Euros as a shop window.
Conor McLaughlin said that he was grateful for Fleetwood where he has learned his basics and that they have given him the opportunity to play every week. But he said that he is at a stage of his career that he will need to push for more, and he will definitely be seizing the opportunity at the Euros. He stated that it had always been his dream to play at the highest level as he can.
He admitted that it has not been easy to reach the level where he is now and that he has made a lot of sacrifices to reach there. For him, it is a dream come true to play for Northern Ireland and that he will do everything he can to make his country proud. He acknowledges that this is a lifetime opportunity to represent Northern Ireland at an international tournament and that many other players have waited for a long time to achieve this.
Conor McLaughlin admitted that he has learned a lot from his international teammates especially those that play in the Premier League.
